Short description

Retro Blackjack is fair blackjack with PS1-style dealers who talk back. Three casinos, six dealers, real shoes and hand-signal controls, with no coins for sale. It's built for iPhone Duo half-folded like a laptop, dealer up top and felt below, and plays on every iPhone and iPad.

Long description

Retro Blackjack puts a low-poly, wobbly, dithered dealer on the top screen and a crisp felt table on the bottom, like a two-screen handheld from 2004. Every hand comes off a real shuffled shoe, blackjack pays 3 to 2, and after each shuffle you slide the red cut card into the deck yourself.

Start at the Scrap Casino, where Sully and Mabel hand-shuffle two decks under a sleeping pit boss. Reach 1,500 coins and the Neon Lounge opens, with Dante, Kai and a 6-deck shoe. Reach 5,000 and you're at the High Roller with August and Celeste, black-and-gold cards and a shuffling machine.

There are no buttons at the table. Tap the felt twice to hit, swipe across to stand, swipe up to double, two-finger tap to split. Draw an ace first and your second card deals in slow motion while the crowd goes "oooh, OHHH... AH-I!" Lose your last coin and Moose the bouncer puts you on the curb with a tin cup.

Coins can only be won or begged for. There's nothing to buy inside the game.

Features

  • Three casinos that unlock for good as your coins grow.
  • Six dealers with about 110 lines each, and a Clean, Blurred or Full profanity filter.
  • Real shoes: 2 hand-shuffled decks, a 6-deck shoe, and a 6-deck shuffling machine. Blackjack pays 3 to 2 everywhere.
  • Cut the deck with the red card after every hand shuffle.
  • Hand-signal controls with an animated guide.
  • Slow-motion ace hype and a BLACKJACK! celebration.
  • Going broke means Moose, the curb and a tin cup, not a store.
  • Friend rooms with 6-digit codes for up to 3 players through Game Center.
  • Two-screen layout for iPhone Duo half-folded, a book layout held sideways, and stacked screens on iPhone and iPad.
